Extortion Action in Schools must Be Reported

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat disclosed, all students must report any extortion, either it is from senior or individual teachers. The reporter's identity will be kept confidential.

We would give sanction and summon the actor, and the reporter's identity will be protected. We'll handle, do not let them roam in the school environment

"In the past, the extortion action was very rampant. If you see and find it, don't hesitate to report it to us," he stated, at SMAN 70, South Jakarta, Monday (7/18).

To the students who caught engaging in extortion to the other students, he continued, will be subject to strict sanction. Thus the student is not to repeat the offense.

"We would give sanction and summon the actor, and the reporter's identity will be protected. We'll handle, do not let them roam in the school environment," he asserted.

Djarot added, the parents must participate in creating an atmosphere of teaching and learning activities (KBM) in the school. The trick, is by doing intensive communication with their children, thus information openness from children can be created.

"The key is information openness from children. And the parents can deliver the grievances felt by their children at school to us. By doing so, we can take action," he disclosed.
